Three In A Row In Toronto

In the past, whenever Lynskey showed up at a film festival, it wasm more often than not, only for one film. However, for the first time in her career, two films in which she features, 'Up In The Air' and 'Leaves Of Grass', and one in which she stars, 'The Informant' have extended her presence at Canada's prestigious cinematic festival. This marks the definite shift from making two films a year to three, and it also heralds the most press coverage she has ever been exposed to throughout her fourteen years in film and TV. We can only hope that this will, at long last, open producers eyes to the possibility of getting leading lady parts, and establish her fully on the international movie stage.

Mel & Kate reunited.....

As you can see above, for the first time since 'Heavenly Creatures' received its world premiere back in 1995, Melanie Lynskey and Kate Winslet have attended a showbusiness event together; the New York premiere of 'Away We Go'. With Sam Mendes, Kate's husband, sandwiched inbetween the two actresses, both Lynskey and Winslet both provide a visual representation of how far they have come in their careers: Kate has finally won her Oscar and Melanie has finally secured a lead female role opposite Matt Damon in 'The Informant'.
